One Skill Retake?
IELTS One Skill Retake is a new feature designed to help you get your desired test score without retaking the full test. If you want to improve your score on one test skill, you can retake any of the four IELTS skills – Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking.

Focus on improving one skill: With IELTS One Skill Retake, you get a chance to boost your score in one section without retaking the entire test. Save time and money by focusing only on the skill you want to enhance, rather than redoing all four sections.

Stick with what you know: IELTS One Skill Retake maintains the same format and timing as the standard IELTS test. This familiarity alleviates the need to prepare for a new exam or learn different task types.

Get a fresh Test Report Form: Your IELTS One Skill Retake score will come with a new Test Report Form, detailing your updated score alongside your original results and an overall CEFR score. These results remain valid for two years from your original test date, as indicated on your Test Report Form.

Keep your original scores intact: Your original test scores remain unchanged. If you prefer, you can continue to use your original score even after receiving your IELTS One Skill Retake results.
Conditions to book
IELTS One Skill Retake

You can book the test if you’ve recently completed a full computer test - IELTS Academic & IELTS General Training.

You must also have received your results from a test centre that offers IELTS One Skill Retake.

You can only retake one skill once per original test, and you must sit the IELTS One Skill Retake within 60 days of your original test.

How do I book
IELTS One Skill Retake?
When you log into your test taker portal, you will see your IELTS results. If you would like to improve one result, simply click on the 'Retake' button for the skill that you would like to retake.
You can only book a One Skill Retake once per full test - IELTS on computer.
Cancellation and transfer policy for IELTS One Skill Retake
IELTS OSR cancellation and refund policy

If you cancel your test more than 14 days before the test date, there's no refund. But to change the date, you'll need to pay for a transfer fee.

No refunds on OSR test fees are provided within 14 days before the OSR test.

Refunds may be possible within 14 days before the test and up to two days after the test, but only in special circumstances. This includes situations considered exceptional according to the current guidelines.

All cases for exceptional circumstances and supporting evidence must be received by the test centre no later than two calendar days after the test date.

No refund is provided if the OSR result is not recognized by any given institution, organization or government body. It is the test taker’s responsibility to check whether relevant bodies recognize OSRs. Click here to check the organisations that accept IELTS One Skill Retake
IELTS OSR test date transfer policy

Transfer requests must be submitted at least 5 calendar days before an OSR test. You'll need to pay for a transfer fee.

Transfers are contingent upon availability of another test within the 60-day eligibility period.

No reasons or evidence are necessary for transfer requests.

If transfer is not feasible, cancellation may be allowed within policy guidelines.

Each booking can only be transferred once.
Enquiry on Results on ORS test
If you wish to submit an Enquiry on Results for the OSR Test, you can do so through your Test Taker Portal or contact our center to process it on your behalf.
